A little bit of information about me

Rachael's Driving SchoolAbout me
Hi I'm Rachael, I am licensed by the DVSA to give driving tuition and I am passionate about road safety.

I became a driving instructor because I wanted a job with real satisfaction and there is nothing better than seeing someone pass their test first time. I was also always being told by friends and work colleagues that I was a calm and relaxed type of person and that I would make a great Driving Instructor.

To tell you a little bit more about myself, I previously worked as a biology lecturer in further Education, I have been in education for about 20 years, the job changed a lot over those years and although I loved teaching, I found the focus of my job changed into something it hadn’t resembled when I first started. I wanted to take on a new career direction that still enabled me to fulfill the most enjoyable parts of my previous job which was teaching and working with people, whilst having the support of a larger organization, which shared the same educational values as myself, but also allowed me the freedom to make my own decisions. This is when LDC jumped out at me.

I was fortunate to be trained by LDC in the latest adult coaching and training techniques so you can be assured the training I give will be of the highest standard.

I chose to work with LDC because everybody is different and the LD System allows for flexibility in lessons so that you learn to drive safely at a rate that suits you. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible. The LD System just helps me to do this more effectively.

I live in Stockport with my Portuguese partner Manuel, and my two teenage daughters Holly and Daisy. We share our home with our beloved pets Bert, Bingo and Oscar our dogs and Chase, Chester and Treacle our cats.

My interests are nature, obviously being a biologist; I particularly love animals of all types (except spiders). I enjoy country walks with our dogs. Our family loves food, cooking and eating, we love to sit around our table eating, chatting and laughing, we often have our friends and family around to help us, (The Portuguese are not very good at portion control) we also love to travel, we often visit Portugal and love exploring the country.

Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in making pupils feel at ease during lessons.
